Blog Me Baby!

Hi, my name is John and I’m a web-designer. (although many would prefix that with adjectives such as ‘geeky’, ‘eccentric’, ‘that weirdo’, etc. etc.)

I kinda stumbled into web-design back in 1995. The internet was very new and somewhat visually primitive back then. But it was a thriving young industry and one I wanted to be a part of. My previous graphic design experience came from working on print magazine layouts and artwork – the web seemed to be the next logical step. By 1997 I was working full-time as a web-designer and I had a monthly column in the ‘Global Web Directory’ magazine. It all seems like a lifetime ago.

Some of my work has appeared in such books as Daniel Donelly’s ‘In Your Face Too – the Best of Interactive Design’ as well as several magazines – most notably the now defunct Create Magazine from the UK. I have also been interviewed on radio Triple J about my work on the Australian Nine Inch Nails site ‘Happiness In Slavery’. Some of my sites have also appeared on television – namely Foxtel’s Channel V.

I run a Melbourne multimedia/design and web development company with my business partner called Dogbite Media.

So having said all that, just what the hell is this blog about? You know, I have no friggin idea. I just like posting about the things I like. Some are geeky. Some are eccentric. And some are just plain weird!
