Tony wasn't sizing up Pauly or Bobby for a possible fight, he was checking out how much more fit they were than he was. Tony clearly feels that he is in poor physical condition and this translates into perceived weakness on the part of his crew. When he walked into the pork store, nobody jumped to or gave him any indication that they really gave a shit that the skipper was in the room. Some tokens, sure (a sandwich, the hugs and kisses) but no real respect. So Tony calls out the one guy he is sure will lose his temper and take a swing. Tony beats him down and reasserts his position among the crew. And then of course, pays for his exertion by puking blood in the bathroom. But his smile in the mirror says that it was worth it.

Classic fucking episode! I dont know whether Vito did the deed or not. I think he will try to take some people out with him when he goes, they have foreshadowed him like crazy this season.

There is really a lot going on this year. I thought Tony was wanting to get out and that they would play off of him not letting one of his main guys out in the first episode, but with him kicking the shit out of muscles ... looks like John Sacs crying episode brought him back.

it seems as if Chris is being set up to rat out the arabs to the feds. The feds mentioning that they were on the counter terrorism force, that if Chris had any info to give them he should call, and then the two middle eastern guys looking to buy guns and Chris questioning them about their intentions- I think this will develop into a plot element.

Great write-up to yet another brilliant Buscemi-directed episode. He delivered in spades with his direction. His episodes always have the best elements of what made the show great from the very beginning.
