Check out these amazing photos by photographer Cedric Delsaux. He has shot Star Wars characters in various poses throughout the streets of modern day Paris. The results are simply breathtaking and rivetting at the same time.

One doesn’t miss the Sopranos so much once a new season of HBO’s Deadwood begins. Now in its third season, Deadwood just keeps on getting better and better. Unfortunately, the powers that be (and who have NFI) have decided that this third season will be the final of Deadwood with two 2 hour movie length episodes scheduled to wrap the series up next year. Absolutely devastating news for all us Deadwood die-hards as this is truly one of the best shows on TV right now. It is absolutely Shakespearian in it’s prose and vulgarity. Each and every character is so superbly crafted and played by some of the finest actors in the biz today. Make sure you check out this show whether on the two seasons that have been released on DVD or the leechers’ route of Usenet and/or torrents. (Oh and HBO too if it is available in your neck of the woods).
Reason enough to love this time of the week as both Deadwood and HBO’s other piece of brilliance, Entourage are broadcast. Both awesome. Both highly recommended by this blog!

Prior to the current Superman pic, there were many names associated with the Man of Steel’s return to celluloid. Names such as Kevin Smith, Gregory Poirier, Johnathan Lemkin, Alex Ford, and Tim Burton had been involved in various scripts of Supes. Normally, I am a huge fan of Burton’s work - but if he had directed Superman, it would have been a disaster of monumental proportions. Burton had cast Chris Rock as Jimmy Olsen, Jack Nicholson as Perry White and (oh God!) Sandra Bullock as Lois Lane.
So for all you Bryan Singer haters out there, better thank your lucky stars this movie was never made. In the meantime, here’s a peak at Tim Burton’s Concept Art for ‘Superman Lives’.

Ah the good ole US of A. Fighting for ‘freedom’ in Iraq yet their own country is turning into a warped Christian Taliban. Many retailers throughout ‘the land of the free’ are refusing to carry the forthcoming new Slayer opus ‘Christ Illusion’ unless the cover is censored.
Larry Carroll, who did the cover artwork for Slayer’s ‘Reign in Blood’, ‘South of Heaven’, and ‘Seasons In the Abyss’ album, painted the original piece for the ‘Christ Illusion’ cover also. Working only from the song titles and early lyrics, Carroll has produced a classic Slayer masterpiece — a portrait of the Christ whose forearms have been chopped off, standing in an ocean of blood surrounded by floating, decapitated heads. (Now what in hell is offensive about that?) Carroll created the painting on a 4-by-4-foot slab of wood using a combination of mediums. Slayer guitarist Kerry King already has placed dibs on ownership of the original wooden canvas.

If you’re like me and you prefer your Metal strictly from the old-school, then do check out Brian Posehn’s new ‘Metal By Numbers’ track and video. Hillarious stuff taking a dump from up high on today’s ‘Metal’ scene full of pseudo teen-angst (and mascarra!) The vid also feature’s Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Armored Saint’s Joey Vera. Do check it out!
Brian is also set to appear on NBC’s ‘Late Night With Conan O’Brien’ tonight (Tuesday July 11) at 12:35 a.m. EST.
Posehn will be appearing on this hit late night show in support of his new CD, ‘Live In: Nerd Rage’, which is being released today in North America. ‘Live In: Nerd Rage’ is Posehn’s first official stand-up release and reveals the hilarious observations of a self-professed nerd and life-long fan of Heavy Metal. Recorded as part of Brian’s appearances on the ‘Comedians of Comedy’ tour.

Following the tremendous success of what was MTV’s The Osbournes, KISS mainman Gene Simmons is set to star in his own ‘reality TV’ show entitled ‘Gene Simmons Family Jewels’ which is set to feature on the A&E network in August. Undoubtebly, Simmons lacks the charm and personality of Ozzy & co. so it remains to be seen how successful the show will be. The magic of the Osbournes was just how much of a train-wreck Ozzy and his cohorts were.
Synopsis: Dad is Gene Simmons - the legendary, tongue wagging demon of KISS. Mom is Shannon Tweed — former Playmate Of The Year, actress and model. And their kids, Nick and Sophie, are, well…surprisingly charming, well-behaved teenagers dealing with the trials and tribulations of adolescence, even though Mom and Dad are like no one else?s parents.
Gene and Shannon have been happily UNmarried for 22 years and have no plans of getting married any time soon. Gene is a rock star, and a multi-media magnate. He is also the kind of dad who brings Gatorade to his daughter’s soccer games and stands in the front row of his son’s rock band when they play gigs.
It all sounds so contrived but that seems to be the Simmons forte these days. Still, I for one will be checking it out, even for old times sake of once being a KISS diehard.
