I’ve been wanting to start over with Dogmatic for quite a while now. Online since April of 2003 in various incarnations, I felt it had become a bloated, sluggish beast that needed a facelift both cosmetically and content wise. Although it collated a fair historical slab of my life over the past few years, it is a chapter that has now closed and I wanted a new beginning.
At one brief point, I considered shutting shop but in all honesty, I enjoy the blog and the contacts it has allowed me to make. It’s fun to maintain and I find it to be a creative outlet in times of inspiration seeking.
If Dogmatic was to continue however, it would have to adorn a new coat of paint and take a (slightly) more radical approach to how and what I blog about. In essence, I needed to strip it back and get rid of the obesity that was insanely clogging its arteries.
I decided to flush it all and start all over again.
I hope to introduce a little bit more of me this time round and all the projects I am involved with be it my photography or design. My usual slab of interests will still be covered and the essence and spirit of the original Dogmatic will always remain.
The blog is powered by Wordpress. The theme is my version of K2 and I have called it Illuminati. It features photography by yours truly and is proudly hosted by Dreamhost.
Welcome to hell, kiddies!

I really dig the new look! Clean and dark, just my cup o’ tea! I’ve just stopped blogging, since I never wrote anything anyways…
A note: the comments don’t look to good with white on grey. Kinda hard to read…
Hey there Hans. I think you managed to sneak in before the site was completed. I think I am about a week away before its all completed. I just hadn’t got round to the comments CSS as yet. Anyway, you’re the first to see it.
Wow! I love what you’ve done with K2.
Arrived here from the RSS feed…been subscribed forever, and the last few URL’s lead to this domain.
The new site looks excellent so far, thanks for continuing Dogmatic!
Sheesh! Serves me right for not having a local server to work on! You guys are getting in and having sneak peeks without my knowledge!
(But that’s ok!)
Anyone know how to set-up a Mysql server etc on Mac OSX - shoot me an
email in strict layman’s terms please.
I like it. Glad it’s back as I enjoy reading reading it.
I’d maybes recommend that you have a “visceralindustry” link as part of your navigation from an SEO point of view. As your blog is bound to get indexed for a vast number of things.
I dig the K2 theme, I am thinking of trying it myself as my blog is based on the Blix theme and I don’t really like it that much to be honest.
I don’t think mysql is that hard to set up, there are some articles about running a local wordpress…I’ll see if I can find them. OS-X is already a web server anyways.
Point taken Simon re: visceral industry link.
I really love what you’ve done with your blog. I think it looks sensational. K2 is great. It’s important to me that a blog… look like a blog. Many don’t these days but I really like K2’s layout and the fact that it is (relatively) easy to hack and manipulate. Even for a non-code-monkey like me.
Running a local Wordpress would be a godsend in terms of testing stuff. I should look into that.
Thanks dood. I’m getting to the point where I know what I am doing with wordpress now so if I get something more functional I can hack it to pieces. K2 seems like the theme to use for that.
I’m getting more into the idea of using wordpress to drive websites, with some plugins it can be a powerful cms and make my life easier. I’m toying with the idea of using wordpress on type o negative’s new website.
Oh also: http://maczealots.com/tutorials/wordpress/
The Wordpress/CMS idea is something I had considered for the Godhead website but I didn’t have the time or budget to work that in.
My next project is for erotic photographer Justice Howard and she needs a CMS to be able to update the site herself, I def think that I will use Wordpress for that.
Whoa! Killer link dude! Just perfect! Thanx so much for that!
No problemo.
I think the blog looks fantastic and I love what you have done with it, but I really miss the old content.
Love the new look!
