Developing the Deathriders Website Pt. I

Deathriders
version II
Some early pre-production work on the forthcoming Deathriders website. At this point, we aren’t sure of the band photo that we will be using. The band might be going in for another shoot to more complement this ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ look & feel we are trying to capture.

Deathriders
Monochrome version. Gives you a better feel for the layers that are being used for this composite

Deathriders
version I
…just a little something I’m working on. (Still in pre-production and not indicative of where this is ultimately heading). Take no attention of the logo as it (obviously) needs work.

    Hey JR,

Your saloon from hell layout rocks! Cool design and idea. Lettering is right on. What we are looking for is more of a fight between angels and demons you know heaven and hell in a scratchy gothic sort of way. The individual shots of each member which we will have to send you, could be designed in it’s own realistic vintage tarot card: A Tarot deck is a deck of 78 cards. It is divided into the Major Arcana with 22 cards and a Minor Arcana with 56 cards. The Major Arcana has individual cards which differ greatly from each other. They are usually numbered 0 to 21. Their names are:

    The Fool
    The Magician
    High Priestess
    Empress
    Emperor
    Pope
    Lovers
    Chariot
    Justice
    Hermit
    Wheel of Fortune
    Strength
    Hanged Man
    Death
    Temperance
    Devil
    Tower
    Star
    Moon
    Sun
    Last Judgement
    World.

The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits: Wands, Cups, Swords and Coins. Each suit has four Court Cards, which are Page, Knight, King and Queen. The numbered cards are 2 to 10 and Ace. Some of the numbered cards have traditional names, such as 10 of Swords, which is known as Ruin.

There is a phletora of different Tarot decks. Some follow the traditional system quite closely, others have elaborated on it, or changed it, sometimes beyond recognition. The decks are often named after their designers. Often an occultist and an artist design a deck together. Designing a deck takes a lot of skill and time. Still many occultists design their own decks which are never published. Designing your own Tarot deck is a way of recording many of your insights.

It would be cool if one or more were lit on fire. They could be held up by hands, or stuck in the wall by a deathriders dagger up or on the table or all of the above. I’m liking the bloody fingerprints. You also may want to include some vermin, plagues, locusts, fire in the four corners. You know the shit that happens when the world is over! Can’t wait to see what The VISCERAL Industry can COOK UP for DEATHRIDERS!

    Metallically yours,
    Neil

I once wanted to design my own Tarot several years ago. With the right photography, we could def do something like this for the Deathriders site.

    Hey JR:

WOW this is getting there for sure my death-dealin visceral grafix man. I like the lettering in the monochrome one but since I love “screamy” colors i like the colored one betta-betta. Throw your bones to the dark side and you got it. Fotographically yours, JUsTICE
