Captain America Dead

Captain America Dead. Hopefully he stays dead, unlike DC Comic’s stunt of 1993 where they killed Superman and then had him return in 4 different incarnations… spawning 4 new comic book titles(!)

This is just a not-so-cleverly disguised marketing ploy by Marvel to boost readership and Captain America awareness. Why would they want to do that? Because they’re working on a Captain America movie of course! Lame!

This is the stupidist idia. I’m so pissed. I hope marvel realizes that this is a bad idea and brings him back, like when wolverine lost his adamantium skeleton and killed Sabretooth. This was a weak political comentary and it makes me mad that they used Captain America to make it. O.K you don’t like the Patriot Act, don’t start killing off our heroes. I grew up idolizing Captain America. It’s a bunch of crap that a bunch a hippie protesters are in charge of what happens to him. Marvel needs to fire some writers and their editors.

It’s a publicity stunt to make Stephen Colbert a comic book character to gain publicity.

It’s hard for me to beleive they would kill off such an iconic character like Captain America. Some serious symbolism there. It looks like the Punisher may take up the mantle though.

I recently did a story about Cap’s Death over at Highbrid Nation. I wanted to talk about it from the perpective of the Hip Hop community. Check it out if you get a chance.

“Captain America Dead. Hopefully he stays dead this time.”
What kind of opening statement is that. Only one that is done to provoke an emotional response. Well done and I’ll stop right there with the compliments because that is the extent of compliments that can be given to one that would try to better themselves off of the destruction of a Icon that symbolizes the United States of America. To the majority of people that I have spoken to it’s kin to destroying the Statue of Liberty or the Twin Towers oh! and the latter has been done also. So it would seem that you would be advocateing not only the destruction of our country but its ideals as well, and to someone that would do that and make money off of it by glorifying themselves in the process. Well you would be the biggest loser of all because you would no longer be able to do what it is you are doing now freely. THINK ABOUT IT CAREFULLY ALL WHO READ THIS STATEMENT THE KEY WORDS IN MY LETTER ARE IN MY LETTER.

Captain America isn’t much of a super-hero anyway. A good bullet to the back of the neck. Sounds like a quick, easy way to go. Now, The Hulk. There’s a super hero. Whatever Captain America represents in his red, white, and blue tights is better represented with a little green rage. The Hulk rules. Anyone who would grow up idolizing the half-cracked sketches of some I.R.S. agent in tights … not sure that’s the type of hero to idolize. Whatever movie is being made for this retarded character will go right to DVD in the same way spider Man should have. Retarded. The best movie so far was the Hulk. Great Graphics. Great plot. Great character. Great comic book representation in the cinematography.

I think Batman could probably have kicked Captain America’s ass. What’re C.A.’s powers anyway? A couple retarded tricks is all he has. He’s a washed up paper boy. He’s a closet broadway singer. He’s a waste of ink. Any superhero that can be killed by a bullet is not much of a super hero. I would think it would take at least two bullets, and the caliber would have to be at least … what … say 50 mm.

America is a comic book nation, and I think what the hippies are trying to tell us is to climb out of the basement and follow real-life heroes like Jennifer Hudson and the entire American Idol crew. Those are people who stick their necks out for their dreams. They’re the real Captain Americas. And when they sing, no bullets will bring them the songs down. Because those songs are true blue! Captain America got caught his his pants down walking out of a building. He should have had some of those mirrored sun glasses on, so he could have seen the bullet coming. Then he could’ve just spun around and gripped that tiny piece of lead in his squishy fingers. TERRORIZE THIS! He would have screamed.

Instead, all he screamed was ARGH!

And that’s my point … left to his own devices, Captain America rides ridges. I mean, he’s a bottomed out par-boy of about as much value to America (today’s America) as the Oak Ridge Boys were to post-modern country music. The American Idols span a need much greater and deeper in their justified quest for the American quest for the American DREAM that whenever I think of the way Captain America died, I think that one idol … Jesse … Taylor Hicks … or even Rapheal from season one … are better off without Captain America because in addition to not knowing where the dangers lay (the bullet), he also knew nothing of the harmony of music. The harmony of music is where the super powers lie. The Hulk’s powers are deeply seated in his growl, which is a basic, metaphorical music that Captain America would have done well to learn.

    Captain R.I.P.

Well, he didn’t die just to a shot in the back of the neck. He did also take a few slugs in the stomach at point-blank range.

Well it would seem that someone other than myself has tried to made themselves usefull. Pointing out that more than one shot was needed to be the keystone such being a benchmark for a demise so to speak. I would like to appologize for not getting back to you sooner, as I was directed to attend to some pressing matters. Not that this is not an important matter but shall we say this forum must take second to family matters.
To offer a rebutal to sir Bestion I offer the following.
(1.)”A good bullet to the back of the neck”. Try and become a little more in-tune with what happened instead of responding the way others wish you to, the statements you make can be corrected by just taking a little time to investigate them as pointed out by sir Kotmatroskin.
(2.) As far as what type of Hero Captain Americal IS. You describe him as one who wears tights and then compare him to the Hulk. If I am not mistaken Caps uniform is not tights, but one might say that the Hulks pants would fall into the realm of neon tights, But with a reason I guess? maybe you should explain that since you know so much.
(3.) If it were that a “Super Hero” could not be killed or harmed would they be a Hero or just super.? It seems to me and my view is my own I know. If one were to be an I.R.S. agent in tights he would only garnish laughter not wages but brave he would be none the less to bring something into this land that is needed other than satirical comments not needed.
(4.) Hulk , Batman , Spiderman , Superman. Hero’s all but why. Examine it and maybe cyphering through it may become clear enough that tv not a super hero make or movie to be or not to be make he. Paper boy , Millionair , Photo Journalist , Scientist , Reporter what am I. A waste of “INK”?
(5.) Jesse , Taylor Hicks , Raphael , Jennifer Hudson those who want to be engulfed by riches. Why not you might say. They might try and do some good say like a real Super Hero or maybe not and just be oh caught up like they were the victims instead of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
(6.) Ideals do not have a time frame as you tried to compare them to the Oak Ridge boys and post modern country ??;what is that some kind of an attempt at comparing Ideals and Levity with some kind of Hippie notion of surrealism. A hint comics and ideals that are truly iconic and noteworthy will always have a place in the hearts of Heros.
(7.) Capitalism being that what it is we can not ignore nor should we tare down any idea that would continue a way of life inked or digitally sent over a frequency.
(8.) Where do the dangers lay or lie do or die yes or no come see come sah. Get real next time if it were not for Captain America fighting for these ideals one and all. Where would we be. We like him should stay the course until some coward would take our life instead of standing up and fighting up front because even most super villains will face the Hero and do battle because only true evil hides in the dark, just to remove an Idea by defacing or verbally destroying it. Even a beast that growls has the courage to stand for what is right but not the one standing behind him building him up.

I say all who would call themselves hero would do well no matter their flaws to remember an ICON. Respect DAT

If they didnt plan on bringing Cap back, it WOULD have been a head shot and not a bunch of chest/stomach shots. thats my opinion.

I am pissed that Marvel chose to make whatever political statement that they are trying to make with Captain America, but I guess he is the only one they really could have used.

To the jackass that thinks hulk is the superior superhero, Cap was out there risking his neck DESPITE the fact that he is not super powered. He is the pinnacle of human developement. I think thats what Cap symbolized to a lot of people. He was an acheivable dream. Anyone (well, almost) could grow up to be him (with the exception of an indestructible sheild). He represents ideals that are long ogone in this country, being from the 1940s. Perhaps that is what his death is supposed to symbolize.

Okay people listen up. From what I read Captain America may not be dead but Steve Rogers is. A man out of time with past ideas of patrotism. But was he really. After 911 enlistment in the arm forces went way up. Cap believed in freedom and fought against its restrictions wether that threat came from a foriegn power or from an unuust law our own government enacts. He remembered the constitution that the government was created by the people and for the people not the other way around. I am not a subversive as I served 7 years in the Marines and 30 years as a cop to ensure those freedoms were not abridged. And hopefully there are still enough people in America who has Cap’s idealogy to keep the country from going completely down the tubes. As for his death at the hands of a cowardly sniper how many of our real heros died that way. It is the way those who would strive to make this country what it should be usually end up and I believe Steve Rogers knew this day would come but he had the courage to continue the fight to the end as others have. Rest easy soldier you’ve earned it.
