I’m totally under the pump at work. Sometimes, I honestly feel as if I am doing the work of three people. At least, my superiors have acknowledged that I am doing the work of two but nup, it’s definitely three! Having been at my current gig for 3 months now, I do feel a helluva lot more comfortable now than I did a month ago. I really do not mind the face down, ass up kinda environment. In fact, I think I kinda thrive on that (as long as I can be armed with my iPod, and no one bothers me… I’m good to go! Today for example, is one of those days where I am doing about 5 things at once on 5 different machines (all the while keeping an eye on the clock as pre-sale tickets to the Black Sabbath and Tori Amos gigs go on sale at noon - my credit card is about to get a serious workout as I’m getting two ticks for Tori and three for Sabbath!)
So today, I’m preparing DVD’s using Photoshop, Flash, Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro. Whilst I am preparing the graphics on one machine, the other G5 I am using to burn the DVD’s and then testing them on our DVD rack before getting labels printed and sending the discs up to the library who will dispatch them at the end of the month. At the same time, I am preparing detail documentation of the production process so in future, if I ever leave this gig, the next guy that comes along won’t have as hellish a time as I had having to learn the massive procedures that need to be undertaken in the monthly production cycle. At the same time, I am on the phone with the printer organizing for the printing of some brochures I have prepared and emailing my girlfriend so we can meet at lunch time along Chapel St.
And if that wasn’t enough, I have a photoshoot to do for a hotel tonight (3rd day in a row I have had to go there but with the possibility of regular photo work from them… I’m game!)
I’m under the pump… big time, but at least it is Friday and now that I know what I am doing with the massive workload before me, - I’m freaking loving it! Bring it on!

> I’m freaking loving it! Bring it on!
I love this part!
hahaha! Yes, that final lines make it all worth it. I know the feeling. I’ve got about a half dozen machines setup to reimage, redvirus, recover data from, install software upon, and deliver to different people today. And on top of that, I’m covering two sites so I’m running back and forth with parts and trying to track down the users. Did I mention these were two 500 acre industrial plants?
