Dita Von Teese is the definition of sexy. She is a spokesmodel for the MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam campaign and the face of the holiday catalog for Frederick’s of Hollywood, performs live burlesque shows, and has graced the cover of magazines around the world, including Playboy, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. Now Dita is combining her sex appeal with her compassion for animals to launch PETA’s new ABC campaign.
What does ABC stand for? Animal birth control, of course! PETA’s new ABC campaign tackles the issue of companion animal overpopulation and urges people to do their part by taking simple steps to help end this crisis.
Dita knows her ABCs and just how important animal birth control is. Every year, nearly 4 million dogs and cats are put to death in the U.S. because there are not enough good homes for them. Until we all do our part to put an end to this cycle, euthanasia will remain a tragic necessity.
In her ad, Dita urges fans to “bone up” on their ABCs and, if they are considering adding a dog or a cat to the family, to adopt from a local animal shelter and be sure to get their new family member spayed or neutered.

Festival and pardon to celebrate the late Man in Black. More than 40 years after the late singer Johnny Cash was arrested in Starkville, residents of the east Mississippi town plan a festival in his honour that will include a ceremonial pardoning for the “Man in Black.”

Original photo was taken on a very special night back in December last year. I remember it as if it were… yesterday!
Rage on the road. Seminal rap metal band Rage Against the Machine will tour Australia in January. It will be the California quartet’s first Australian tour since 1996, and its first shows outside the US since it reformed earlier this year. It is also strongly rumoured to be headlining next year’s national Big Day Out festival.
NIN frontman urges fans to steal music. Ya really can’t blame him on this one. The record industry is dying before our eyes. Viva la revolution!
I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Paul Booth back in 2000 for a site I ran called ‘Where The Wild Things Are’. Some of you may remember that one… most of you won’t! Unfortunately I have lost my archives which contained (what I thought) was an awesome interview with Paul… easily the world’s finest tattooist. Hands down! These days, there’s hardly a Metal band that doesn’t feature some of Paul’s stylings- he clearly is a talent that no one can match. Check out the above clip for a small sampling of the genius of Paul Booth!

You know the ole desert island question of what music you’d take along to keep you from going insane (and start having wild sex romps with the ape and primate fraternity of said deserted island) - well I have been answering that question with the following 1: Black Sabbath, 2: Nine Inch Nails and 3: Tori Amos. Having said that, it has been an amazing year for gigs having been privvy to see three of my fave top four acts of all time… Nine Inch Nails, Black Sabbath and last night - Tori Amos. (Now, if only Ministry can announce an Aussie tour then my ‘Holy Trinity +1′ will all be complete!)
But I kinda, digress. Last night was the third time I have seen Tori Amos live. I have been fortunate enough to see her on her 1994, 2005 and now 2007 tours. With little fanfare or publicity from the mainstream Australian media, she manages to sell out her gigs time and time again. Last night was certainly no exception with barely a vacant seat throughout the wonderful Hamer Hall. The acoustics were nothing short of breathtaking and her live band had the perfect mix. As always, an intense and seductive light show was on offer and even if Tori featured one too many of her newer tracks from the ‘American Doll Posse’ album, she still pulled out the hits from her classic albums. To see such a virtuoso musician such as Tori on the piano is a sight to behold and her new take on some of her standards makes them all sound so fresh, vibrant and enthralling. Truly a magical night tinged with Tori’s offbeat quirkiness, warmth and humor.
Simply a magical experience.
Museum a Three Stooges treasure trove. Having been a HUGE Three Stooges buff for as far back as I can remember, this certainly was a fun read! Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk!
