I am sooooo happy that they are coming out with a second movie……The first one was sooo great, I have watched it many many times.
Zeigeist (the first one) may have had the right message, but was filled with distortions, and out and out lies.
For example, while most of what they said about Jesus is true (he is a mythological hybrid of pagen religions and start formations) horus and mythra were never crusified. With the part were they advocate a controlled demolition on the world trade center, being used, that’s impossibe, as we would have heard the charges go off and they would have had to do alot more preperation to the building, than would have been possible. However, I’m not sure the towers would have collapsed from the plane crashs and resulting fires.
Be sure to take this new instalment of the movie, with a grain of salt, and do alot of follow up research.

It’s amazing to me how people can continue to promote that Jesus was a hybridization of other mythologies. It is simply not true.
Well, i’m a Classical studies and history graduate. My studies taught me to take all opinions with a grain of salt and to research the truth for yourself. so one thing is to say something and another is to back it up with worthwhile evidence. From your reply Ray ray i can see that you have christian biases. Saying that it’s simply not true is not gonna cut it. Prove your opinion and not with sources from bible because it is a bias source but with reliable evidence from neutral sources eg: Historians that lived around the time of Jesus and once you do, you also have to look at their background and motives eg: a historian with that comes from a christian background would simply not do because just like you he would be symapthetic towards the christian cause. At least the author of the movie reserched his thesis before he put it out to public.
global warming definitely is not true, and the polar ice caps melting will actually lower the sea level, not make it rise like they say, as frozen water is epxanded, and with 90% of it underwater, its simple logic.

Opie, for heaven’s sake, you need to check your facts. There are so may things wrong with what you said. I can only assume you are holding on to the rest of your “evidence”. I usually don’t like to say this to people, but you are WRONG! Here’s why. 1) Yes, frozen water is expanded, locked in relative place, but you are forgetting your phyisics. If an iceberg of 1000 tons melts, how much weight/mass of water results? 1000 tons. Yes, water expands when frozen. But the water that melts still exerts the same exact downward pressure on the surrounding water, only now in a diffusive manner, i.e. its net displacement is exactly the same. That peice of the iceberg sticking above the water is exactly the amount that is needed to balance the difference in density. 2) It is not directly the melting of icebergs that will cause a rise in sea level. It is the shedding of ice and trapped water from land masses (solid earthen land masses) into the seas that will add new water and mass to the system, thus causing it to rise. Take a look at the peer reviewed science coming out of Greenland and Antartica. These are not biased dogmatic views. These are based upon good science with a sound base of technolical measurement which gets better every year, and every year they continue to grow their confidence in their asserions that these land masses are losing their glacial ice. I have watched the timelines shrink in the last 5 years to a degree that has shocked me. So long as ice is propped up by land, exterting its huge mass not on the seas, it will keep us safe on the coasts. If and when this ice is freed en masse, we are hosed, or at least those of us near enough to the coasts. Please, Opie, there is room for argument in all of this. Science is founded upon argument, and peer-based criical thinking, but don’t read some dogamtic eye-closed account of some proposed truth and fail to check it aginst the establishing facts. I am not saying you are dumb or stupid, we all have our blinders on one thing or another, but I guarentee you have much to learn on this issue. I hate bad science, and I hate that people think science has an agenda. People have agendas, me too, but science is not a group of people, it is a tool. It is not a perfect tool, but a means of asking questions about nature. It requires refinement of technique and understanding as it circles (never quite reaching) the truth. It evolves. This is what distinguises it from dogma (and most religions). It changes according to the legitmate challenges facing it. Get with it.

It seems here that ppl want to dispel the truths/myths from religion but even that is extreme. Whether Christ or god exists and proving existence and non-existence is suffering. Ever hear of Dependent Origination? The cause of this suffering is craving, ignorance, and clinging. The effect is religious extremism or secular extremism; the extreme opposites. So quit clinging and craving with your ignorance of things the way they are. There will always be followers of biblical scripture and there will also be followers of the exact opposite. May you live well and empty your ego that you call “I” or “myself.”
……… You know the bible predicts that world government (the beast) will turn on false religion (the harlot) and destroy it. I do not wish to argue weather or not Jesus was real, but what I do know is that if government destroys religion then that event will give credit to weather or not the bible is a book of truth or just a book of stories. I like to sit back and watch the news and pay attention to events to see if that is the direction the earth is moving in. movies like zeitgeist (which I believe is an amazing movie) just reinforce in my mind that yes false religion will indeed be destroyed quite soon, like the bible predicts.

Zeitgeist the movie did change the way I look at things. I see George Bush talk on TV and I immediately think ‘liar lair liar …’. The current global financial crisis I now know has been contrived. It didn’t happen by accident - it happened because people are greedy. The $700 bn baleout is nothing more than a scam designed to make the rich richer at the expense of the taxpayer. Ok, here’s the problem with the new zeitgeist. The first one was pretty good, this one was pretty much a rehash of the banking part, and a long emotional appeal to what is basically communism. What they are asking for is for SEVERAL generations to sweat and toil so their offspring can live without working. We are a product of evolution which is inherently based on scarcity, since our anscestors had to fight for food. Those characteristics are still in all of us, and the only way to get them out is to BREED them out. The reason communism failed is because nobody is going to work really hard to produce something if the guy next to him is really lazy, yet still gets the same resources GIVEN to him by some omnipotent gaurdian. Guess what? Our society evolved from many thousands of years of small hunter/gather tribes, and we still respond to simuli AS IF WE STILL LIVED IN THOSE SOCIETIES. We have been in groups larger than 50-100 people for a relatively short amount of time, evolutionarily thinking. And guess what? In those small groups, it was still the same way, the strong, the smart, had MOST of the food and (sorry to burst y’all’s bubble) and ALL of the women. Those that couldn’t participate in the hunt, well they got left out. As far as we are one big happy family one earth, stardust harvesting stardust and all that, sorry to burst your bubble again, but in any organic system, (lets say bees) some are workers, some are slaves and some are queens. Its great to have a love fest in the idea that the sun is so wonderful, but not if you are one of those fishes that lives so deep they ain’t got no eyes. Read “The Lucifer Principle” for more info, by Bloom. And if you wanna get down and dirty, and get to the REAL reason, people are the way they are, check out “The Red Queen” by Ridley. We do what we do, chase after success, because we want the holiest of holies, and I ain’t talking about no church. Its all about getting laid. That is why Ridley argues we developed a big brain. Sorry folks, but the ideal society won’t work unless every dude is treated to at least the possibility of sex with different women, which would mean that in order for the ideal planet to exist, we’d have to go to another planet and steal women, like the Yanomamo do in South America. (except they don’t steal their women from other planets, they’d look pretty silly driving women stealing spaceships around in loin cloths…)
