dude most of the new masks are pretty good. however micks still looks very much the same, and coreys leaves something to be desired. unfortunately, despite the fact that i’ve been a hardcore maggot for years, the new music is a remarkable let down. all the hype built up about corey’s voice being back is not true. he does have a little more of distortion behind his scream but it does not nearly match the calibur of what he had during the self-titled and iowa albums. the guitar riffage is VERY reminiscent of the subliminal verses album but not as raw, in your face with middle fingers in the air. of course joey still has his moments but they are fewer and farther between. i think the different members’ side prjects have started to interfere with the machine that used to be slipknot; especially stone sour. sorry, never thought it would happen, but slipknot…you’ve let me down this time.
