Dogmatic will collate & disseminate the world of art, photography, digital culture, cutting-edge television, cinema, DVDs, comic books, extreme music, toys, and anything and everything with a touch of outré.
We’ll take a plunge into the pool of the counterculture and dance with everything the mainstream shuns.
Those closest to me call me JR and I can be reached via email here.

FAQ:
Q: Why the name Dogmatic?
A: Absolutely no reason. I co-directed a company called Dogbite Media from 2003 & 2006 and when I was first setting up this blog back in April of 2003, ‘Dogmatic’ was literally the first word that came into my head. I liked it then, and I adore it now. Such a powerful word and in a way, captures who I am. I like it so much I am thinking of having it tattooed on my body.
Q: You seem like an interesting cat, what are some of your hobbies?
A: I really adore photography and just grabbing my camera and heading out for a few hours for an expedition! I prefer shooting in seedy places and trying to capture the urban niceties and the like of my city Melbourne. (Best city in Australia. Absolutely no contest!) I’d love to be able to publish a book one day about some of the stuff my camera and I have seen.
Of late, I have really taken to live music photography which I feel is the most challenging and difficult form of photography. It’s all documented over at my other site, the Visceral Industry.
I am hopeful one day, that I can make a career in the photography field. I am determined and fully focussed on achieving this goal come hell or high water!
Apart from photography, I love design and art and striving to better my craft with each and every project I undertake. I’m a total music buff – especially for the harder edged stuff – and I love cramming as much tunage as I can into my iPod. Love going to the movies and I have a DVD buying fetish that really needs to be curtailed! And if I have any money left over, I am a dedicate magazine buying junky and have a twisted penchant for comic books, weird and wacky toys and action figures and dead animals in specimen jars! Oh and I’m a huge Howard Stern fan and can be seen listening to his show everyday on my trusty iPod. (Hey now!)
I currently work as a multimedia designer for a movie industry based company in Melbourne, Australia.
Q: Serial Killer of choice?
A: Richard Ramirez (aka The Nightstalker) of course!
Q: And fave Black Sabbath album of all time?
A: Beyond the shadow of any doubt, ‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’ gets me every single time I listen to it!
Q: Where’s all the old content?
A: Unfortunately we were hacked. The database was severely compromised and all sorts of nasties were going on. That’s the bad news. The good news is that all the past 6 years of content has been recovered and will slowly be pieced back and online. This might take some time, so hang in there. All your fave articles, pics and the likes will be back online shortly!
Q: Where else are you online?
A: Oh, the usual places. I Twitter. I listen to tunes – documented nicely by Last.FM, I contribute photos to JPG and of course, Flickr. I have a Facebook, but if I don’t know ya, don’t bother. And you can find some bits at pieces over at Tumblr and Red Bubble.
I am also putting together a portfolio site of some of my live photography. You can view it all at Visceral Industry.
Q: There’s been many different versions of the blog, why is that?
A: I like changing things up somewhat. We’ve been in existence since early 2003 and in that time, one grows and one’s influences change and evolve. I like to keep things fresh and I like the challenge of creating a whole new look and feel for Dogmatic. It keeps things interesting…

Jennifer Bransky

Jennifer’s daylight hours are mostly spent working in marketing & advertising while the evening hours are spent with her beloved TiVo.
Her tastes lean to more offbeat shows, science fiction/fantasy, and the good stuff the BBC puts out. Some of her all-time favorites are Supernatural, The Mighty Boosh, Doctor Who, Dark Angel & Ugly Betty.
With a Media Studies and Journalism degree, she figures if she’s going to watch the stuff, maybe she should write a bit about it, too. She does admit she gets a bit too giddy watching Fall pilots (even though very few tend to make her Season Pass-Worthy standards).

Steph Dyhin

A student of cultural studies and social theory, my business card says ‘communications coordinator’, but my heart says writer, film buff and music nerd. I try not to be a film snob but I do prefer cinema that challenges the viewer, is elegantly beautiful or creatively written. That said I confess to being a little eccentric and can’t really explain my penchant for spy movies, magical realism and Bruce Willis. Yay Bruce!
I love writing and my blog posts range from thought provoking articulations to self-indulgent mood pieces. Basically I’m nuts about films, music, technology and culture and I want to share it with the interwebs.

Joel Sabadin

Joel Sabadin likes to create.
Since a young age Joel has been drawn to the notion that one is able to record their imagination via various mediums for the world to see.
Painting dreams and ideas of things never been. Photographing the glance, the stare and the focus of any day. Illustrating thoughts.
Animating realities yet to come.
The grass that grows through the crack in the footpath is my hero.
A lover of music, filmmaking, special effects, moths, photography, animation, painting, zombie survival knowledge, the experimental, science, robots, the beginning, the middle, and the end.

Mick the Wiz

In the misty morning, on the edge of time, I once made mountains shake with laughter as I played.
A boundless god was I, strutting from world to world. No childish mischief ever left unmade.
With furrowed brow and clutching hands, I clawed at lore satanic never told.
And watched in horror mixed with glee the devilish consequences unfold.
No repentence mine nor self-respect as wilfully I stared into the abyss.
Casting dice with Satan, my soul’s tipping point a target hard to miss.
Yet, ‘ere false starts and false gods, an earthly angel barred my way.
Despite failing sight and Samson’s loss, shreds of sanity and dignity were saved.
Now, old and frayed, my mind restored, yet scarred from battles past.
I regale all with tales of old, and laugh and drink at follies passed.
My tales of minstrels iron-forged shall be from years of yore.
Cessation now; head out of arse, ‘ere I become a bore.

LostJimmy

I hide out among the big skies in the land of the Wicker Man. “From an early age, I became the slave of disgraceful pleasures” with unrestrained gratification I indulged in Heavy Metal, motorcycles, “champers & chips, and birds with no bras”. Specialist subjects include “pounding my senses flat” to NWOBHM classics and worshipping the 1978 NTV television series ‘Monkey’. I am held inexorably enthralled to an estranged evo engined Iron Horse named the Haggis Pudding Express. I strive one day to become a more dedicated adherent of Sengueï Ngaro.
