I had been really looking forward to the Armageddon Expo for a couple of months. For some reason or another, we hardly get any of these sorta cool expos/conventions on these shores so there was no way I was gonna miss out on this.
Unfortunately, it proved to be a little on the disappointing side. There really was nothing on offer that you don’t see at your local comic book shop, so I kinda left the event with tail between my legs and feeling a little ripped off.
Still, I am hopeful that future events will be better and at least this is a start to more geek and sci-fi fun for all us perennial geeks and freaks!
Crew member on new Batman film killed in crash. A special effects technician has been killed in a crash during production of the latest Batman film, Warner Bros. said Tuesday.

World-famous entrepreneur, adult entertainment icon and New York Times best-selling author Jenna Jameson is creating and staring in her own series of comic books, it was announced today by Virgin Comics CEO, Sharad Devarajan, at Comic-Con, the industry’s annual super-festival in San Diego. The series, titled Shadow Hunter, debuts in comic shops and online comic retailers in December. The complete 144 page Shadow Hunter book will be available in June 2008 at all major book sellers. A new site, www.JennaComix.com will host additional information, previews and pre-orders of the comic art and books.
Shadow Hunter is the story of a provocative superheroine who survives a brush with death only to find herself fighting the legions of hell for her very soul. Cover art for the first issue has been created by Greg Horn, a top illustrator of comic books and video games. The story, while provocative and sexy, contains no nudity and is intended for a mainstream audience.
“Jenna Jameson is a cultural force,” said Virgin Comics CEO Sharad Devarajan. “She is an entrepreneur who is taking the taboo to the mainstream and has built an industry around her brand.”
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Virgin to bring this story to life, first as comics and eventually in film and other formats,” said Jenna Jameson. “Working with comics is creatively liberating – everything is possible. My character is sultry, sexy and kicks ass!’
“Jenna brings a defiance and edge to everything she does, said Gotham Chopra, Chief Creative Officer of Virgin Comics. “She’s a provocateur and there’s no doubt that our creative team at Virgin is going to have a blast collaborating with her. I can assure you every artist we have in our studio is vying to get assigned to this project!”

You wanted ‘em, you got ‘em! Here’s a slew of pics from the forthcoming Batman flick ‘The Dark Knight’ - featuring Heath Ledger as the Joker!
Check ‘em out folks, right after the jump:

The new image of Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight has now been removed from IBelieveinHarveyDentToo.com. It’s been replaced with red text that gives the error, ‘Page not found’. If you highlight the entire page, however, you’ll see a ton of ‘Ha Ha Ha’s’ with some letters here and there that don’t belong. String those letters together and what do you get? - ‘See you in December’.
So who is behind all this? It looks to be 42 Entertainment, the company which previously created the ‘I Love Bees’ promotion for ‘Halo 2′ and ‘Year Zero’ for the Nine Inch Nails album ‘Year Zero’. The company just registered SeeYouinDecember.com yesterday, so stay tuned.
Captain America Dead. Hopefully he stays dead, unlike DC Comic’s stunt of 1993 where they killed Superman and then had him return in 4 different incarnations… spawning 4 new comic book titles(!)

The early comic books were amazing! Dark, brooding, sinister and nothing like the colorful ‘for kids only’ that the Turtles became in the early 90’s. The hype turned them into a kiddie phenomenon but now… the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back with a brand new all-CGI flick which is about to hit our screens.
A brief synopsis: After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their rat sensei, Master Splinter (Mako), becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters (Patrick Stewart) is raising up an army of ancient monsters, and only one super-ninja fighting team can stop them — those heroes in a half shell — Leonardo (James Arnold Taylor), Michelangelo (Mikey Kelley), Donatello (Mitchell Whitfield) and Raphael (Nolan North)! With the help of old allies April O’Neil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Casey Jones (Chris Evans), the Turtles are in for the fight of their lives as they once again must face the mysterious Foot Clan, who have put their own ninja skills behind Winters’ endeavors.
Making this new incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles truly cutting-edge, the film was created entirely with state-of-the-art CG animation, giving them a completely new look for the 21st century.
Warner Bros. Pictures and The Weinstein Company present an Imagi Animation Studios Production, “TMNT,†featuring the voices of Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mako, Kevin Smith, Patrick Stewart, Ziyi Zhang, and narrated by Laurence Fishburne. Kevin Munroe wrote and directed the film, which is produced by Thomas K. Gray, Galen Walker and Paul Wang. The executive producers are Francis Kao, Peter Laird, Gary Richardson and Frederick U. Fierst, with Felix Ip serving as co-producer. The music is by Klaus Badelt.
