Had myself a pretty decent old day today. First of all, a recent photo of mine of Flinders Street Station has been chosen to appear on the front cover of a Melbourne industry magazine called ‘Planning News’. I was pretty stoked to have my work recognized like this… especially ‘cos it’s going to be on their cover! After a few emails and phone calls back and forth - we got it all organized. The magazine will be available on August 10. I’ll post more then.
In other matters, I have joined the team over at Black magazine. A couple of weeks ago I reported about this new dark culture magazine and now… I’m gonna be contributing very bits and pieces as well as some of my more dark photography. Their latest issues is on sale throughout Australia in newsagencies everywhere, so do pick up a copy.
I’m really excited about this. The first issue looks friggn amazing and I am anticipating some really cool happenings with the guys from Black over the course of this relationship!
Editor Angela Challis and I, discussed what my role would be today over the phone and I am so looking forward to getting stuck into it all.

From the viral marketing campaign at Why So Serious comes what appears to be a new poster design for The Dark Knight. At this point we are not sure whether this is just for show or if it will actually be printed and used as a theatrical poster - but man, this looks freaking awesome!
Larger size after the jump…

My junk is taking over my world. Unread magazines. Unopened books. Unwatched DVDs. Unlistened CDs. Stuff! Here, there and everywhere. Literally! Here, there and everywhere!
You know, there’s a desk under there. Somewhere. A big solid desk that hasn’t seen the light of day for ages ‘cos all my junk… all my stuff has taken residency and refuses to leave.
Consumerism at its best. Or at its worst. You decide.
Help!

Motorhead frontman Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister recently spoke to the Artisan News Service about the Lemmy Icon Figure (image), which is about to begin shipping from Locoape, creators of iconic figures and collectibles. An edition of 2,500 pieces is one exclusive that includes an individually numbered Motorhead ‘Ace of Spades’ playing card as well as an authentic D’Andrea Lemmy guitar pick. Also available is an autographed edition limited to only 50 pieces worldwide. (I have one of these limited ones on order!)
“I had to stand on this platform while the camera went around and did the hologram thing and then they made the model, only smaller,” Lemmy said. “They said it’s an action figure, and I said, ‘So, you’re gonna put a dick on it?’ They said, ‘No.’ I said, ‘Well, then it’s not going to get much action then, is it?’ A bad name for it, right?”

Although I have been a professional web-designer since 1995, the past year and a half has been pretty barren when it comes to the web as I have been working more in a video/audio/multimedia profession. Having said that, I do miss working exclusively for the web. A year or so ago, I was pleased to be working on new disciplines but now, I do miss web design.

I do get to dabble with it every now and then on limited freelance gigs. A site I didn’t get to fully work on a couple of years ago was erotic photographer Justice Howard’s website. Justice is one of the most amazing photographers out there. I wish she had a Flickr page so that everyone here could experience the sheer quality of her work. She manages to capture colors that are so rich and vibrant. You can view her work on her website here.
I found the time to work on a new splash page for her. The above design was completed very quickly and sent as a rough concept to Justice for her approval or disapproval. She was stoked with the result, which can be viewed clearer here and will be the new entrance page to her wesbite in the next few days.
I thought it would be cool to highlight some of my fave photos I have taken over the course of the past week. So every Thursday, or thereabouts, I’ll share some of my faves right here on this blog. If you wanna see more of my stuff, I’m pretty prolific on Flickr so see you there…

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis confirmed during an online chat on Korn Korner, the group’s official chat room, that Korn’s forthcoming album will be produced by Ross Robinson, the man behind the band’s first two releases, ‘Korn’ (1994) and ‘Life is Peachy’ (1996). Davis also addressed the persistent rumors that KORN’s original lineup could be reuniting later this year.
Korn’s lineup was stable for the first 12 years and six albums of the band’s existence, until guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch left in 2005 to devote his life to Christianity and drummer David Silveria took a ‘temporary hiatus’ in 2006 to spend time with his family and restaurant business.
Davis, guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu have carried on with a revolving cast of touring and studio musicians in the interim.
Writing on Korn Korner this past Saturday (May 17), Davis said, “Head doesn’t want to come back yet. I miss him sooooo fuckin’ bad, but I don’t think he is ready to be put back in the element he ran from. Drugs are everywere, and I think he’s not ready to be around it yet. I think Fieldy can help him a lot because he’s Christian [too] and sober and does fine. Now David, I don’t know what’s gonna happen there. I just think he is done with music; it not his passion anymore. It sucks, but hey, he has to be happy, right?! We are very happy with [current Korn touring drummer] Ray [Luzier]. Every time I see him, he’s got a drum magazine or a drumstick in his hands. It pumps me and Fieldy and Munk up. So maybe one day you will see Head up there with us, I hope.”
A new Korn collection, titled ‘Playlist: The Very Best of Korn’, was released on April 29. The compilation came two weeks ahead of the May 13 arrival of a DVD called “Live in Montreaux 2004″. That disc features a full concert by the original lineup of the band, before the departures of guitarist Welch and Silveria.
