It’s not like anyone’s ever accused Korn frontman Jonathan Davis of being lighthearted and well adjusted. After all, the guy took a job in high school at his local morgue and has been venting onstage about mental and physical abuse for the past decade. Over the past few years however, Davis had been planning on opening a serial killer museum.

For years, Davis has been buying mass murderer art and other items, and has amassed a series of works owned or created by America’s most twisted and nefarious individuals.

“The car was auctioned off by the police,” he says. “They always sell stuff off after a long time has passed between the crimes.”
Davis says he bought the car with the aim to open a museum dedicated to serial killers, but the project has been shelved and the car is taking up space in his Los Angeles garage.
“I’m just gonna keep it,” he says. “I’d never drive it.”
“I really caught the bug of collecting serial killer artifacts and we have a whole gangster section with autopsy bullets of famous gangsters that were killed; like a whole bunch of stuff, so…I think my pride and joy is my Gacy suit and the Bundy Bug.”
But the project never got off the ground. Davis has been sued by a former business associate for breach of contract after announcing plans for a museum of American serial killers.
Arthur Rosenblatt, a collector of criminal artifacts, sued Davis, a former mortuary science student, and his associates, for approximately $4 million in a 12-count lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (22 June 2004), relating to a failed attempt to open a museum.
In the suit, Rosenblatt says Davis approached him in June 2001 about his collection of “Americana”.
Rosenblatt told Davis of his plan to open a museum of artifacts related to the criminal justice system and Davis said he wanted to participate, offering $250,000 to fund the museum, which Rosenblatt suggested be named the MUSEUM OF JUSTICE + ODDITORIUM or MOJO MUSEUM, according to court papers.
In the lawsuit, Rosenblatt claims Davis and other partners never provided any money and that his life was threatened on various occasions.
Rosenblatt, now living in New York, says he’s considering pursuing criminal charges against Davis.
According to the suit, between 2001 and 2003, Rosenblatt left his job, relocated to Los Angeles and loaned Davis Bundy’s car and other artwork worth $20,000.
Starting around April 2002, Davis appeared on MTV and on radio referring to the museum as a “serial killer museum” and using other terminology that was contrary to the deal between Davis and Rosenblatt, say court documents.
Others became involved, including David Engle, a friend of Davis, who offered $350,000 in exchange for a percentage of museum profits, but never provided the money, the suit says.
By March 2003, Davis suggested funding the museum via a TV or film production and then in April 2003, he brought in other financiers who suggested a stage show with bikini-clad women, the suit said.
Rosenblatt expressed no desire to change the show in that way and claims Davis refused to return the car and artifacts. The suit says Davis displayed Rosenblatt’s artwork at Ozzfest, where he performed, and then subsequently offered to return the car to Rosenblatt only if he promised not to sue.
At Ozzfest 2003, a black trailer located near the second stage held a display of artifacts from Korn singer Jonathan Davis’ personal collection, including a life-size replica of movie demon Pinhead; cyber-erotic paintings by H.R. Giger; Nirvana’s final set list from Munich, Germany 1993; and artifacts tied to serial killers Albert Fish, John Wayne Gacy, Richard Ramirez and Ted Bundy.

Yet, we look at collections of his memoribilia as something of a status quo. Let’s again look at JFK. He partook in gang bangs with another well known celebrity, along with his brother. This has become a fact, not a rumor. So do you think that it is a normal fantasy collection of clocks, cars, and clothing that may have come from his genre? What is the difference? We have made celebrity out of Ted Bundy, along with other serial killers. There are hundreds of different books, television shows, and movies that have been anything but unpopular. We are captivated by these people. If we were then there would be a market where a person could purchase such a collection, and at a very high cost. Yet some of you say “how horrible for the families of these victims”, “let the families set fire to Bundy’s VW”, “Jonothan is demented” or “Jon has problems cause of his childhood” Well news flash, these families have gone through so much and the people who lived through it have also, and they would do anything in thier power to teach others of these horrible things so others will have a better understanding of how to protect themselves against people like them and if that is Jon making a museum to show others there ways and people can take it anyway they want and no explanation for the way they feel, but trust me, those family members, those victims, Jon and I. I’m selling for him, the 10 hour interview recordings of GACY that he made for the preparation of the very first trial in 1980. It’s the only copy in existence and NO ONE has EVER heard

i now own the framed color ramirez pieces that jon is pictured standing in front of, they are some of the nicest ramirez pieces i have seen, i have two other pieces of ramirez work as well. i have a great deal of items from many serial killers, such as dahmer, bundy, lucas. gacy, ramirez, speck, desalvo, the list goes on. the fish item pictured looks more like an interview transcript probably done by the police, however the person above is right, fish was arrested in 1934 so either the date is wrong or it is a fake, however knowing who these items originally belonged to (not davis) i would believe that they are not, and the date is just wrong. davis never actually owned any of this stuff, it was on loan to him, as he was menat to contribute and help publicise the museum. the items as far as i know are now back with their original owner.
by the way it would really suprise me if jon is associated with this site. so any of you people looking to buy these items, you are going to have to look elsewhere. i don’t even think the person that owns these is selling stuff any more, though i have seen the 2 gacy paintings pictured (the grave yeard and making of pogo one) in a gallery in burbank.

I personally thought it is the coolest, most ingenuous idea. I know that personally I have often wondered “What the F*ck was going on in that mind of theirs, to drive them to such sickness?” I feel the more we know about such things, the more we can begin to understand such unfathomable evil. Society in general has become so blind to life, death, and what may lie beyond. How many Serial Killers were there when public execution was the “highlight” and entertainment? Death has become a mystery that we all, in some sort of way “fear the Grim Reaper.” Where as in history death was celebrated, we didn’t have hospital’s and mortuary’s to guard us from the face of death. I apologize for getting off our main topic, all in all before you past judgments and comment “he can do whatever he wants.” Ask yourself, “What is the one thing I (you) fear the most?” People tend to fight against what they fear, such as put down, demean, make fun of, or lash out at whoever or whatever has brought that fear before them.
At the very least I feel this is only a baby step in the right direction on Mr. Davis’s part to open society’s third eye again. He is not collecting it to hide away in his “NEVER-KORN-LAND!” Like some perverts have in the past. His intent is to share and educate society on this sickness, enlightenment and awareness. Something we society has buried out of fear and our government hides. Everything needs to be investigated weather it is pretty or ugly, in order to understand, recognize and treat.
I applaud your efforts Mr. Davis, and would love to be apart, I would even volunteer my time and efforts to help bring such “museum” into reality.
