I agree, so many titles have come out in the past 10 years bareing the title of 'industrial'. Most of which sound like the records I heard in dance clubs in the 90's.....

Lets cross our fingers that the reznor record is as much a breath of fresh air as Mythmaker is from Ole' red beak.

I have a copy of the new Skinny Puppy - but I just haven't had a chance to listen to it. (Been otherwise occupied!!!)

Strictly, NIN really aren't an industrial act even tho Trent is the poster-boy for the movement. Most industrial these days is rather pitiful. (Mostly Euro acts that *ALL* sound the same).

I still dig what Ministry are doing these days and hopefully when I get some more time, I will give the Skinny Puppy disc some serious attention.

Obviously the industrial genre has been dead in the water for a long time and needs a major overhaul. I think With Teeth was a move in the right direction in as far as trying new things but it was hardly revolutionary.
But, I have recently had the chance to hear Skinny Puppy's upcoming disc (yes, I thought they were RIP too) and I haven't been wowed by anything like that in a long time. Their style has been updated with really crisp ass-kicking new sounds and directions in music.
If this NIN album turns out as good as the hype sounds, it will have already been a very good year for the godfathers of industrial music.
