Although his versatility as a photographer extends to many genres, the following is clear: Neal Preston is one of the most prolific and highly respected photographers in the history of Rock N Roll. With a career in photography that started in high school and continues to the present, Neal Preston has made a significant contribution to the pop-culture history of his generation.

In 1976 he photographed KISS for a Creem Magazine cover shoot and Christmas card. Some of these pics have been widely circulated, some haven’t. A very-tanked-up Ace Frehley made this a difficult shoot as he was completely out-of-control, but the rest of the band seem to be having themselves a good time as well…

Fan-freakin-tastic! Amazing photos! All of the photo sets on this site are simply unbelievable. This really was KISS at their best. While I still manage to stomach the current band (I will listen to audio, but not watch video. Video makes me feel sad that KISS has become a cover band.) It’s awesome to find out stuff like this exists! Each of these photo sets contains 1 or 2 classic pics that I remember 1st seeing when I was 10 years old, 30+ years ago. To see other pictures from these classic sets is truly a pleasure! Thanks, and keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for your effort to show the photos to us. I bought the “Creem Magazine” when it was released.
fantastic photos! thanks a ton for sharing. i look forward to all these pictures.

Thanks for sharing these… there are alot of classic pix where I guess one have only seen 1 or 2 photos from a complete set. Very nice pictures and I can just agree that todays KISS isnt really close to the original.
Annoying when people lecture about the band, that they should of quit when original line up split up. Oh, yes… they give up multiple pussy, money and fame, just to please you, who think are only true fans. And then Gene and Paul would have taken jobs as shoesailsman`s, and lived happily ever after. I, like many others, first found kiss in the 80`s and been a true fan since, almost 25 years now. Of course i love original line up, how could i not? but I also feel very powerful about 80`s classics. I mean, if you really think classic albums like “Creatures” “Lick it up” and “Animalize” should have never been released, that`s just unimaginable coming from a “true kiss fan”.
FANTASTIC, looking forward to every new “release”
Awesome!
I have no other words for it
Keep the good work
