I had a meeting with a recruitment/headhunting organization today in the city. (No, not the guys above!) After the meeting, I decided to drive through Brunswick St and see if there was anything exciting to shoot. I walked past these guys and then doubled-back and asked them if I could take their pic.
"You can for the price of a beer!", said the Al Jourgensen looking fella (that’s the one with the hat for non-Ministry fans!)
I replied "Would $10 suffice?"
You shoulda seen the grins on their collective faces!
After the shoot, we had a brief chat about photography and the like. I explained I was purely a hobbyist but enjoyed capturing the essence and urban landscape that makes up this fine city of ours.
Ironically enough, when Sam and I were returning from the Chinese New Year festivities in the city yesterday, the blond fella and his dog were in the train with us - and we were commenting how cute his pooch was!

That looks very much like Al! Way cool.
I forget the guys name, but when i was in Melbourne the one in the middle recited one of his poems to us for a few dollars. He has a stash of his poems in that bag on his belt. He’s quite a fixture of Brunswick St.
Yes, a few dollars for booze!
The omni-present long neck in his hand, no matter what time of day…( Grant McCracken is his name, btw, a supposed “street poet” and he’s a right pain…)
