On October 1 Playboy TV premiered the first episode in a 13-part weekly one-hour documentary series that goes behind the secretive, closed doors of Vivid Entertainment, the world’s largest adult film company. Vivid Valley, a World of Wonder production from award-winning producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (’The Eyes of Tammy Faye’, ‘Party Monster’, ‘Inside Deep Throat’), focuses on the other side of Hollywood - the multibillion dollar adult film industry.

Granted an unprecedented all-access pass into the hidden world of adult films, Vivid Valley takes a fly-on-the-wall peek into the public passions and private lives of Vivid’s stars and their boss Steven Hirsch, the 42-year-old who created a hugely successful business using the tactics of the old Hollywood studio system - building a stable of bright young stars under exclusive contract.

“Over the last few years, Steve Hirsch’s Vivid Entertainment has been almost singly responsible for propelling adult entertainment into the mainstream with crossover stars like Jenna Jameson and massive billboards towering over Times Square,” said Mark F. Mauceri, vice president, Playboy Worldwide Programming. “Vivid Valley is sure to entertain and fascinate the uninitiated with its intimate look at the company’s gritty inner workings.”

Fenton Bailey, co-CEO of World of Wonder added, “It’s a testament to the considerable courage and artistic commitment of Playboy TV that they are airing this series which no other network dared.”

Vivid Valley follows the Vivid Girls through their professional and personal relationships on the set and at home, revealing their sometimes unexpected opinions on everything from plastic surgeries, drug abuse and recovery, child-rearing, romance and religion. Some of the most popular names in adult entertainment are represented including Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Sunrise Adams, Mercedez, Tawny Roberts, Savanna Samson, as well as Hirsch and acclaimed adult film directors Paul ‘PT’ Thomas and Chi Chi LaRue.

Vivid Valley will be supported with webisodes and podcasts on World of Wonder’s. Based in both Los Angeles and London, World of Wonder has recently created and produced the hit series ‘Show Biz Moms and Dads’ for Bravo, ‘Transgeneration’ for the Sundance Channel, and ‘Movies That Shook The World’ for AMC.

Saw2 Blood Drive

Marketing movies can often make or break a cinema release. Last year, the makers of ‘Saw’ discovered a new way to market their suspensful and bloody film - by donating blood to the American Red Cross. Not only did you get the satisfaction of doing something damn good for your fellow man, you also got a free movie screening and the obligatory tee-shirt!

Last year’s blood drive generated 4,200 pints of blood - enough to help save over 585 lives in the U.S. Pacific Northwest in two days, according to Sandi Sundquist Lesh, a spokeswoman for the American Red Cross.

This year, with the 2nd Annual Saw 2 Halloween Blood Drive, I’m sure they are looking for even more help. Now, we don’t know all of the specifics yet.. but I’m sure Lions Gate will hook up all those who help dontate. Better yet, if the nurse at the Blood Drive looks like the one in the poster above, I am sure that last year’s record of 4,200 pints will be doubled(!) (incidentally, gosh the model in the poster looks a helluva lot like porn starlet Briana Banks!)
