When 1970s art-rock outfit Devo formed as something of a joke, based on their own theory of “de-evolution” (that mankind was regressing “as evidenced by the herd mentality of American society”), its art student founders didn’t foresee themselves performing more than 30 years later.

Devo Sues McDonalds.
Post-punk pioneers Devo say they are suing McDonald’s in the US over a Happy Meal doll that sports the band’s signature red flower pot hat.
Originally titled SoHo Blues, Allan Tannenbaum’s book of photos from his work as SoHo News chief photographer is now called New York in the 70s. Published by Feierabend Verlag, the book is 272 pages in tabloid format. It features a reminiscence by Yoko Ono and a foreword by noted author P.J. O’Rourke. You can view some of the pics online.
