The ashes of legendary grunge musician Kurt Cobain - who committed suicide in 1994 - have been stolen, according to his distraught widow Courtney Love.
The Nirvana frontman’s ashes were taken from Love’s Los Angeles residence, she said.
Cobain’s ashes had been stored in a pink bear-shaped bag, along with a lock of his hair.
Clothes and jewellery were also taken from Love’s home.
Love said she was horrified by the theft and was now suicidal.
“They were all I had left of my husband,” said the Hole singer.
“I can’t believe anyone would take Kurt’s ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I’m suicidal. If I don’t get them back I don’t know what I’ll do.”
The majority of Cobain’s ashes were scattered near his Washington home and at a Buddhist temple, with Love keeping the rest.

Spencer Elden (born on July 9, 1991) is the model who appeared on the cover of Nirvana’s album Nevermind. Nirvana considered using a stock photograph of a swimming baby, but when that proved too expensive, they hired photographer Kirk Weddle. Weddle’s friends, Renata and Rick Elden, allowed their son Spencer to be photographed for about $200. The hook, line, and dollar were superimposed later. After seeing the photo, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana’s lead singer) and his wife Courtney Love agreed that they would take Spencer out to dinner when he got older.

Based on his appearance in the video for ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ the NECA Kurt Cobain Action figure includes his guitar, rendered in painstaking detail, and part of the gymnasium floor as the base. Be on the lookout for Kurt to stand with his guitar again on store shelves late in June.
One wonders if series two will feature Courtney Love and a gun?
