Every so often a new ‘miraculous’ icon of some Christian deity comes along. You know, the bleeding Virgin (!), the crying Saint Whatshisname statue, and the obligatory Jaysus face visible in a daily piece of toast or in the intertwining grain of a tree’s bark.
I don’t usually pay attention to these, ahem, phenomena - but this one caught my attention ‘cos for one, as a painting, I think it looks friggn awesome! (In that creepy this-could-be-an-amazing-record-cover-for-Slayer’s-next-album kinda way!)
And what are the magic healing powers of said painting? Well not much really. Apparently the painting features a shut-eyed Christ but on closer inspection - some loonies are now seeing said painting with its eyes open! Whoa! Spooky!
Hasn’t anyone stopped for a brief second and analyzed what’s really going on? It’s obvious that the painting originally depicted Christ with his eyes open. Down the track the artist has painted over the shut eyes and now over time, said paint is beginning to fade (as paint does) and the underpainted open eyes - are now visible. Or is that far too logical a conclusion?
Regardless, as I stated before - as a painting I think it looks kick ass and would make a sensational tee-shirt!

Thanks, JR. I’m going to have nightmares of a zombie Jesus tonight.
It is a little creepy huh?
How do I find the owner of this. I make t-shirts and you nailed it. I would love to pruchase this and reproduce it on a t-shirt in dye-sublimation.
Can I tatooe this shit on my chessticles?
!!!chessticles???
